Sydney harbour ferry ride

I went to Manly beach right outside of Sydney yesterday - I took the ferry at sunset so I got a nice view of Sydney on the way over to Manly. Read more about Manly here: http://www.manlyaustralia.com.au/ . And here are a few photos:

Is there some logic to this

These are some of the Australian coins and as you can see; the larger the coin the less it is worth?? The problem is that the 50 cent coin is HUGE and fills up my wallet pretty fast.

Tour of the Sydney Opera House

I took a short tour of the Sydney Opera house today as I got the afternoon off :-) The Opera house was spectacular today with the crisp, blue skies in the background and it was fun to learn a bit about the history of the opera house. The inside is not as spectacular as the outside by the way. No if only Stavanger had the same visions when building the new concert house :-) The Sydney Opera house was designed by the Dane Jørn Utzon and was estimated to cost about 7 million Aussie dollars - in the end it cost more than 100 million! Talk about budget problems ;-)

Due to network problems at work today I got a bit of time to take a walk outside :-) Here are a couple of pics...I walked in the botanical garden and it is filled with flying foxes - also known as bats. They were quite noisy as they were fighting over the branches to hang on to :-) Here is a bunch hanging around in a tree
