The greatest Norwegian past time

Ta-da! Jepp, yesterday I decided to indulge in a Norwegian past time (even though the chain is Swedish ... ok, that just opened the door to some funny looks). I took a quick browse & got some storage boxes. Those will soon be filled with important keepsakes (junk that I can't bear to part with). Thank you, Sweee ... ehh, IKEA!

Eating out

If you go to Kuala Lumpur you should check out Jalan Alor in the Bukit Bintang area. A street full of food stalls and lots of good food. We just had a couple of Tiger beer and some satay :-)

The (in)famous durian

Ame's prom night

My baby sister on her prom night in May *sniff* She looks fab-u-lous, dahling! Oh yeah, with a date ... Prom night comes twice to most South Africans coz the classes are small and the venues are large so the seniors (final years + second last year) share. BUT her class (2nd last year) had to come up with the theme, raise money and decorate the venue. No easy task!

KL by night

Olav got a small glass of wine

But he deserves it of course :).

1 for Basil, 2 for me

Thought I'd start the week on a diligent note. Got to work on time, was efficient during my work hours, straight to the gym - remembered to guzzle some water after the workout and ... watered Basil (yes, the basil plant). Any gold stars for moi?

Eating Indian

We had Indian with Meena. Here is one of many dishes that were on the table

Meena

Meena took us out to eat Indian food in KL. She is a foodie...just check out her food blog http://www.awhiffoflemongrass.com/

Relaxing Sunday

Took another chance and headed into town for coffee and cake on Sunday. Parking was still a nightmare but the company was good and the 'big city' woes were soon forgotten;)

Weekend in Stavanger

Stavanger was buzzing this weekend. 2 cruise ships, German tourist buses, National Brass Band festival and rigging for the beach volleyball tournament. The festival was more international though with the National Guard strutting their stuff and a band from South Africa extracting standing ovations from quiet Norwegians:) The downside being that all this was rather unexpected and parking was a nightmare - took me 30min to get out of town from our usual parking area! We hope the weather clears up again otherwise the beach volleyball tournament might be more a muddy affair:S
